Q. When I connect to the internet, my connection is reported as 115,200
is this correct?

A. No.  115,200 is the speed between your modem and your computer. To
force the driver to declare the true connection speed, add the
following initialisation string: w1  This is added in My Compter ==>
Dial Up Networking ==> Right click on your connection ==> choose
properties ==> select the connection tab ==> advanced ==> extra
settings

Q. What is the best way to install a PCMCIA modem?

A. Allow the modem to be detected on system start-up / upon insertion
of card.  Insert the driver when prompted.
NOTES: 	Do not attempt to manually add the driver
	Do not add a COM port for the modem, the next logical port
	number will be automatically used
	The new COM port (usually COM3) will NOT be shown within device
	manager

Q. Why don't the lights on the modem DAA for my ISDN/MODEM COMBO card
operate?

A. The clear covers are purely cosmetic, they have no electrical
function.  The operation of the ISDN adapter lights are as follows:

ACT: Illuminated when the adapter is connected to the card
LNK: Illuminated when the adapter is connected to a live S0 line (ISDN)

Q. How do I use the different modes on the ISDN/MODEM COMBO card?

A. There are two main operation modes for this card, ISDN and modem.
To use the ISDN mode, connect the ISDN line adapter and enter the
configuration application.  Go to the general menu and choose modem
settings.  Tick the option Modem over ISDN B-channel.  Ensure that your
Dial-Up-Networking connection is set to use ISDN Line-0.

To enable the modem operation connect the Analogue DAA and enter the
configuration application. Go to the general menu and choose modem
settings.  Tick the option Modem over PSTN.  Go to the CONFIG menu and
choose COM port setting, ensure that the B-channel protocol is selected
and choose Modem over PSTN.  Ensure that your Dial-Up-Networking
connection is set to use Intelligent PCMCIA (modem).

Q. On older versions of software I have disks for VCOM and NDIS?

A. 	Analogue phone line modem needs VCOM to surf (because it is a virtual 
		modem port) - SELECT Intelligent Modem
	ISDN needs NDIS to surf (because it is a network connection)
		- SELECT Channel0

	However, Compuserv uses v.120 which is a modem standard OVER ISDN
		therefore requiring that VCOM be used)
