Question: How does the call notification work?
Answer: You input your mobile phone number into olifax/voice under
	standalone management>>notify setup

	Then the unit will call you on recpt of any incomming calls.

	The unit will not play the message to you or give any SMS.

	If you need to listen to the messages, 
	you will need to call the unit back and perform remote retrval.

Question: remote control not longer functioning
Answering: caused by incorrect olifax/voice software,
           download oli6.15 sotfware from www.olitec.fr to resolve.


Memory capacity: Self Memory 2000 and Smart Memory PRO come with 4MB as
standard.  This allows up to 40 mins of voice messages and 70 faxes.
The Smart Memory can be upgraded to a max of 8MB using smartmedia cards
allowing the storage of 80 mins of voice and 140 faxes

Q: Uk unit Not seeing dial tones in other countries.

A:Yes, dial tones are different.

You should be able to tell the modem to IGNORE the dial tone by programming ATX1W0W1 when in hyperterminal.  This will be saved into the modems eeprom and then the tone will be ignored when using other comms apps automatically.

Q: How do I reduce the volume of the speaker on my SmartMemory PRO?
A: This can be done using the menu on the unit itself, press the Menu button followed by the arrow keys until Volume is displayed.  Press Enter to change the value using the arrow keys and press Enter again to save the setting.  Press Menu to clear the screen.

Q: I have moved/copied my Olifax/voice installation and I can no longer see my received/sent faxes in the logbook.

A: From the old Olifax/voice installation, copy the two files EMIS.JRN and RECU.JRN into the Olifax/voice dirctory of your new installation.  These contain the indexing that allow the log book to find the message files.

Q: My modem does not always receive faxes, some of them are recorded as voice messages

A: The problem is unfortunately related to the sending fax machines - when the modem recives an incoming call it has no way of telling the type of call until it is answered, on answer the type is distinguished by listening for a fax tone.  If this tone is not present then the call is assumed to be of type voice.  The situation can arise with some 'older' fax machines that do not transmit this tone.

The only real solution is to set the modem to fax receive only because this disables the call type detection and treats all calls as faxes regardless.  This of course disables the answer phone.....

Q: The error "cannot find library file svrapi.dll" appears when I try to connect to the Internet.

A: Enter Control Panel ==> Networks.  Press the ADD button and select CLIENT, from the list of MANUFACTURERS pick MICROSOFT and select the entry named CLIENT FOR MICROSOFT NETWORKS from the right-hand pane.  Close the control panel windows, insert the Windows CD so that the files can be copied.  Once this has conmpleted restart windows.

Q: Do I have to install Olicom, Fotowin, Netscape and Olitec Launcher?

A: Olicom is not used within the UK, therefore not shown on the UK autorun menu.  Manual is being updated to reflect this.

Neither Fotowin or Netscape are essential.  Fotowin is an alternative fax application to Olifax/voice.  Netscape can be used as an alternative to Microsoft Internet Explorer but the choice is down to the user.

Olitec launcher installs a local copy of the autorun launcher menu.
