Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 and 4.01, and Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 1 have default timeout settings of five minutes. Only Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 1 provides the ability to change the default timeout setting through using the registry.
So if you use Internet Explorer 4.01, To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
1.Install Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 1. To obtain Internet
Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 1, 
please visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://www.microsoft.com/ie/
2.Add the ReceiveTimeout DWORD value with a data value of <number of
seconds>*1000 
in the following registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\InternetSett
ings
For example, if you want the timeout duration to be 8 minutes, set
the ReceiveTimeout data value 
to 480000 (<480>*1000).
